Since 2003, Mapei has been the owner of U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, the team of the city that is the symbol of the ceramic district, which plays in the top flight of the Italian football league. 
The company has always had close ties to the world of cycling and, for many years, sponsored a professional team that topped all the international rankings. Since 2008, the group has been the Main Partner of the UCI – Union Cycliste Internationale – Road World Championships.
