Company today |
 |
 |
| |
In
addition to their suitability for areas where there is a danger
of explosion, JDN air hoists offer other standard advantages : |
- sensitive setting of lifting and lowering speeds, low weight,
low headroom and robust construction.
From air hoists via hydraulic hoists to complete explosion proof
crane installations, J.D. Neuhaus offers solutions for almost any
material handling problem.
JDN products are used worldwide in more than 60 sectors of industry
and 90 countries. Internationally, sales are the responsibility
of partner companies with exclusive distribution rights as well
as JDN subsidiaries in the USA, France, Great Britain and Singapore
for supplies to the Southeast Asian region.
JDN - well-equipped for the future
The transfer of management responsibility to the seventh generation
was made on the occasion of the company's 250th anniversary in 1995.
Johann Diederich Neuhaus assumed the chairmanship of the company's
advisory board and Wilfried Neuhaus-Galladé became the sole
managing director.
The succession at the head of the company is also associated with
the strategic concept for the future, which has three central objectives
:
- Securing the worldwide leadership in air hoists.
- Development and expansion of the range of air-operated crane systems.
- Development into a supplier of complete solutions in the field
of lifting and conveying technology.
The latest and most spectacular application : two air-operated JDN
monorail hoists with a total load-bearing capacity of 250 US tons
for the "Gorilla V" jack-up drilling platform. These are
currently the most powerful air hoists in the world.

Key Dates of the Company's History |
 |
 |
| |
|
1745 |
It was in the year 1745 that
Johann Diederich Neuhaus, was deemed worthy to be entered
in the "Sprockhövelschen Fabrickenbuch" (Factory
Register) as a "Fabrickant" (manufacturer) and thus
became a member of a kind of trade cooperative.
J.D. Neuhaus has been manufacturing hoists ever since, now
in the seventh generation.
|
At first, were mainly produced jacks
with wooden shanks, without which no carter wanted to
travel, because on the terrible roads he always had
to expect wheels and axles breaking. |
|
1952 |
JDN is still producing jacks
today, however, there have been several fundamental changes.
The key milestone was the year of 1952 when JDN had the idea
of fitting hoists, which had traditionally been operated manually,
with a pneumatic motor.
The air hoist was born ; compared to the electrical hoist,
this has the key advantage of being safe where there is a
risk of explosion because, unlike electric current, compressed
air does not create any sparks.
The market launch of the air hoist marked the beginning of
the technical and economic advance of JDN.

|
JDN innovations for
the world's markets
The air hoists, which were mainly used in underground mining,
were quickly followed by special hoists for industrial applications
: the mobile JDN air hoists in the PROFI series - absolute
lightweights with enormous strength. And once again, J.D.
Neuhaus sets the standards.
With hoists which prove their value wherever permanent operation
is necessary, where there is danger of explosion or where
loads must be moved extremely gently.
Today, JDN's range of products includes air hoists capable
of lifting 100 kg to 100,000 kg (100,000 kg, that is 100 tons!
- lifted with air, up to now unique in the world).
